The Château de Fontainebleau has been awarded a Tourisme & Handicap Classification for its continued commitment to improving accessibility for visitors with disabilities, and access for all.
Access is free to those with disabilities, and for their assistants, except for guided tours.

Each year, the château takes part in Tourisme & Handicap days.
Vehicle access is available to drop off those with limited mobility directly at the château entrance ; vehicle entry to the château is via the Cour des Mathurins (access opposite the municipal theatre).
The Grands Appartements are accessible to those with limited mobility.
Guide dogs accompanying visually impaired visitors are permitted in the château.
For hearing-impaired visitors, the audio guide is hearing-aid compatible.

The Grands Appartements tour brings to life the hunting lodge, the Renaissance château and the Empire period through a mixture of talks and touch experiences.
- A Primaticcio Bronze
In the Galerie des Cerfs visitors can discover the Renaissance château through the work of Primaticcio and the physical examination of one or two of his works (primarily his Sleeping Ariane).
