The chapelle haute Saint-Saturnin

The royal chapel known as the chapelle haute or upper chapel at Fontainebleau is a two-storey building, built in line with contemporary chapel design principles. The upper chapel was designed to be illuminated from all sides ; it was ultimately annexed to the Ballroom and Salle du Tibre wings before being splendidly decorated by Philibert Delorme and fitted with a marble gallery.
